36 protesters were arrested during the course of last night, at protests over the death of sixteen-year-old Ahuvya Sandak, killed during a police chase last Monday.Demonstrations were held at Mount Herzl, at Tzahal Square, and at the Bar Ilan junction, all in Jerusalem.Those arrested were accused of disturbing the public order and blocking routes to traffic.

Police will be stepping up their presence across the country and setting up additional roadblocks tonight, in order to prevent large gatherings for the turn of the civil year.Police will be aiming to prevent parties in private homes, nature spots, and near to locales selling alcohol.
